Ask and you shall receive! For the area residents who can't make it on Saturday mornings but still want the locally grown produce and products, tonight starts the Wednesday market in Clay Center. Our vendors are anxious to see how it is received, to see if there is as much attendance as there is interest.
Not only customers, but we hope to see vendors too! If you are interested in selling produce or products, join us tonight. There is no charge to sell at the Wednesday market, and we love to see the wide variety offered. Our only rule: no resale allowed, so only sell your own stuff.
I hope you will join us tonight from 5-7 p.m. on the east side of Dexter Park.

Getting Ready for the 2009 Season
Spring is almost here! There maybe snow on the ground and a strong north breeze, but plans are being made and seeds being started for another great year at the Clay Center Farmers Market. If you have never come to the market, make it a priority this year. There are many advantages to buying locally grown food. Some of these include, taste, flavor, freshness, variety and grown by the person who sold it to you.
Our market starts on June 20th, 8-11 am on the Westside of the Courthouse Square.
Tell a friend about the farmers market and we hope to see you on Saturday Mornings!

First Farmers' Market June 21st
I hope everyone is ready! The first Clay Center Farmers' Market is going to be open at 8 am on Saturday. It is located on the west side of the Courthouse. With all the crazy weather, it hasn't been an easy spring. I am hoping to see a good turn out of vendors and patrons. Things I know that will be available are the following:
Jams and Jellies
Zuchinni
Cucumbers
Onions
New Potatoes
Potted Tomato Plants
Potted Pepper Plants
Bedding Plants from the Master Gardeners
Buffalo Meat
Farm Fresh Eggs
and probably much, much more!
On a personal note, I was hoping to have Red Ripe Tomatoes. They are very close. As the old saying goes, "A watched pot never boils". I want to change it to a "Watched tomato never turns red"! I expect I will have them on the 28th.
As the year goes on I will try to post what vendors are expecting to have prior to Saturday. Please pass this link onto other people in the area. Tell you friends about the market and hopefully you can watch it grow.
See you all on Saturday!
